First Presbyterian Church is committed to expressing our love of God through spirited, creative, and inspirational worship in the Reformed tradition. Music is an important part of our service and there are many opportunities at First Presbyterian to glorify God with music.
Our worship includes many styles of music from praise music to jazz to traditional and contemporary Christian composers.
Sanctuary Choir is open to all adults who love to sing! The Sanctuary Choir is a regular presence in worship services and often participates in benefit concerts.
Ambassadors Choir is made up of teens in grades seven through twelve who want to sing in an exciting group that leads worship on a regular basis. The Ambassadors also sing in the community as part of taking God’s message to people outside our church.
Primary and Junior Choirs meet as part of our Joyful Noize Program (see below) which is offered for students in grades one through six.
Renaissance Ringers is our handbell choir and is open to adults and teens who love to ring or who want to learn to ring.
Our Joyful Noize Singers and Ringers offers opportunities for Christian and personal expression through music and drama. The emphasis will be on developing singing and ringing skills which will be sprinkled with drama activities. Christ is the center of all our activities and the spiritual growth of children a priority. This Wednesday afternoon program offers a safe, nurturing, Christian environment, where children are encouraged to express their creativity through the arts. Joyful Noize meets throughout the school year and activities include: Musicals for Christmas and Mother’s Day; Christian drama; and various art projects that celebrate the Christian faith.
