~ Youth Education ~

Our Youth Program serves students in grades 6 through 12.  The Jr. High and Sr. High groups meet separately throughout the school year for a time of Bible Study, discussion, snacks, fun and games!

Each month, we try to have at least one special event.  Examples include retreats, trips to indoor & outdoor amusement parks, laser tag and miniature golf, winding through corn mazes, ice skating and overnight lock-ins.  Many attend Kirkmont, the local Presbyterian Camp and Conference Center, at least once during the summer, spending a week exploring nature’s wonders and God’s love.

The youth are also involved in the mission and ministry of our church.  Many participate in the choir and handbell programs, while others volunteer throughout the year in our CAAMP Program and Vacation Bible School.

They also enjoy helping out in the community.  Occasionally, the Junior Highs make meatloaves, which are served at Hope House, a local homeless shelter.  They also collect food and funds each year for the Souper Bowl of Caring, an activity that encourages people to share with others on Super Bowl Sunday.

The Senior Highs have visited Hope House and assisted in the serving of food there.  They have also participated in the 30-Hour Famine to help raise money and awareness for hunger relief around the world.

In June 2009, six youth and advisors traveled to Kopperston, West Virginia to help with flood relief.  While there, we dug ditches, laid flooring in a church hall and repaired several houses.  It was very rewarding to be able to help and meet those who had been devastated by the floods.  We hope to plan another mission trip for the summer of 2011!
